Child Rights Connect endorsed the statement from the African Child Policy Forum (ACPF) calling upon all stakeholders to take actions to ensure that in all African countries children and their families are protected from the immediate and long-term impacts of the covid-19 pandemic.  

“The COVID-19 pandemic is the single most important challenge facing African children today. It is life-threatening economically and socially devastating. Our success in mitigating its impact on children now will have serious implications for our collective future stability and wellbeing as a continent.”

 In the context of the alarming spreading of the COVID-19 in Africa, this call to action puts light on the devasting effects of the pandemic on children in Africa by addressing specific recommendations to African governments; The African Union; Regional Economic Communities; private sector and African philanthropiesthe international community, development partners and the UN; parents and caregivers; and civil society organisations.
